ABSPD course Module 2 - Create a collection

So its all kicked off, this week I started Module two of ABSPD course and i'm really enjoying experimenting with the different challenges they have set us. One of my first tasks was to name and create my own collection, this is something I have wanted to do for a while but felt I never had time. Heres a little look at what I came up with :-)

Floral Geo

Working hard on creating some fun geos to submit to bowie style for the next print and pattern book - Geometrics is the theme! this is something I have wanted to explore for a while so its great to get a gentle shove to finally delve into this area :-) Such a big fan of print and pattern and so grateful for the support I have received from Marie in the past so want to make sure this work is some of my best. Heres a sneak peak at my first attempts! deadline for submissions is 7th September so I better get busy, heres the link if you want to see more or have a go yourself.

Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search

So here it is! my submission for the GTS. I must admit when I got the brief to create a journal with a playground theme as if paperchase were the client...I panicked! I love paperchase and was a little taken back by the idea as I admire so many of the beautiful prints they stock. I really didn't know where to begin! But after my first draft went horribly wrong I decided stick to what Lilla had told us and create a journal 'I would want to buy' Im pretty pleased with how its turn't out although Iv seen a few other people's submissions today and my god the competition is strong! so many amazing talented designers out there, the judges have a hard task! :-)

Happy Friday everyone! Been trying out my new ink pen this week, heres one of the prints iv come up with..can see this print on a lovely little girls pinny dress :-P

Remembering to stay true to yourself! - Sounds easy dosnt it? but pressure and self doubt somehow manage to creep in and before you know it you have lost your way again! I am learning so so much on The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design E Course run by Rachel Taylor. I am still unsure of my style but im sure with time and hard work I will find it, until then I am going to try and produce more prints like this one and stay true to myself :-) (....now for the tricky bit and putting it into practice!)
